Dawn

“The First together is the morning itself

the marrying wish of dew

the first dance of the grass,

renewed like a child’s clock.

The Early light unaware of the low hum

that entwines the mood of the air-

strangely worshiping

in high memory cries.

And we remember the ghosts better in the morning,

the rising light that is always a grace

on the back of the things you love

scattered through the house like Lego.

The bed remains ancient in its ritual of worship

a personal attack against strangers

made up of all its own Trojan wars

hung in literature, un-debated.

It is easy to believe that is is privilege to grow old

in the morning and that age is young

and all that is above will remain immortal

regardless of loneliness.

~ Greta Bellamacina

Experimenting on a smaller canvas for some larger scale pieces that I will be working on soon. This is part of my Bloom series, but a little more abstract than the previous versions. Will be experimenting with both versions as they get larger and will share of course. xo

This was a tough year for me to say the least, but what is slowly coming out of it is a graceful appreciation for each day even more than before. I have always been grateful for each day, but after loosing my Mom and then facing heart ablation surgery only 6 months later, I can definitely recognize being in the moment with a new strength. It also opened up new ideas for my art,… which is taking advantage of the season along with what I already love to create. With that, you will be seeing more and more of nature that I will be incorporating along with my other art.

I have the { Saisonnier series }, which will be what inspires me and the creations; ( like above from June) and then also the { Bittersweet Series } Which below is beauty I love from wilted flowers and or other nature finds that are in season. I cannot wait to share. xo

Every Sunday, well most of the time if I am able to, after organizing notes, tear sheets and screen shots for the week ahead, I use the remainder of the day to paint. I find scheduling abstract art for this day helps with my ever growing creative interests, as I love to create in many different ways and use a variety of mediums. I have to seperate and schedule out each of them or I can get overwhelmed with the many inspirations I have going on. Some pieces take longer but I try to share at least the progress on Sundays of my latest abstract piece I am working on.

Today I kept it simple, going with the mood and while listening to some older Sigur Ros but ran out of light to get the magic of what it is to share just yet online, so I am sharing with you one of my favorite pieces from 2013.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I'm going to be waking up to snow here in Denver tomorrow morning, (crazy!! and not ready! ) will see you then with a new #MusicMonday, a new portrait piece, and the final abstract from today.
